The Primark demerger
ABF decided on 21 April 2026 to separate Primark from its food business. Its September 2026 trading statement expects completion in December 2027; the demerger hub keeps the transaction subject to necessary approvals and tax clearances. On completion, shareholders would hold shares in both listed companies. ABF says retail shareholders need take no immediate action.
