Aviva has offered shareholder discounts before
Aviva’s 2005 AGM answers acknowledge that Commercial Union and General Accident had offered shareholder discounts. It said its enlarged shareholder base made a blanket scheme impractical to administer, but it continued to look for ways to offer discounts.
By May 2017, Aviva’s shareholder update described a 20% shareholder discount on selected new products bought direct through MyAviva. It said the shareholder-services page had launched in November 2016 and could be used by all shareholders. The update gives no current terms.
Customer discounts are different
Aviva’s customer pages offer discounts to people who already hold qualifying Aviva policies. Owning a share does not meet that policyholder requirement.

Ask Aviva whether it has a current shareholder discount for you, and get the terms in writing before relying on it.
