EQ Boost shopping vouchers

What shareholders get Extra voucher value Ordinary shares registered with EQ

Caledonia Investments owns stakes in listed companies, private businesses and investment funds.

What you get

Caledonia ordinary shareholders can use EQ Boost to put dividend cash towards shopping vouchers with extra value. EQ lists Caledonia as eligible and became its registrar on 5 October 2026. Its other class, deferred ordinary shares, belongs entirely to a subsidiary; EQ excludes corporate holders.

Two regular dividends a year

Caledonia pays an interim dividend and a final dividend each year, usually in January and August. Its final payment on 6 August 2026 was 4.004p per ordinary share: £40.04 for 1,000 shares. In its report for the year to 31 March 2026, Caledonia said it had raised its annual dividend for 59 years in a row.

EQ Boost explained: benefits, drawbacks and how it works.

What it takes

The published terms do not state a minimum shareholding.

Qualifying shares: Caledonia Investments ordinary shares of 0.5p each (CLDN).

You spend your own dividend money. Choosing EQ Boost replaces the dividend instruction Equiniti holds for that holding, including any dividend reinvestment or scrip instruction. The whole dividend goes to EQ Boost, and you cannot top up the account with other money.

Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. Read about the risks.

Holding through a broker

Caledonia offers a Corporate Sponsored Nominee (CSN), provided by Equiniti Financial Services, for holding its shares electronically. If you hold shares there, EQ’s exception for company-sponsored nominees should cover your holding. Caledonia’s FAQ does not say whether you can use EQ Boost through the CSN, so check your dividend options in Shareview or ask Equiniti before moving shares. Shares in an ordinary broker nominee account remain excluded.

Other conditions

Age and residency
You must be over 18. EQ’s terms appear to limit the service to UK residents; if you live elsewhere, ask Equiniti before you apply.
Excluded holders
Corporate shareholders; executors and administrators acting for deceased shareholders
Joint holdings
The account opens in the first-named holder’s name. They must have permission to create it, and withdrawals go to a bank account in their name.

How to claim

You make the election in Shareview Portfolio, Equiniti’s online shareholder account. EQ Boost then asks for your date of birth and an email address that no other EQ Boost account uses.

  1. 1. Check your holding in ShareviewOpen the dividend election for your Caledonia Investments holding in Shareview Portfolio and check that EQ Boost appears. If it does, select it and follow the activation email. If it is missing, ask Equiniti about your holding before changing an instruction.
  2. 2. Choose vouchers after paymentSign in to EQ Boost when the dividend arrives. Check the current retailer uplift, voucher amounts and spending conditions before buying.

Dates

The published terms do not say how long you must hold the shares.

Qualifying date
Check Caledonia’s announcement for the record date of the dividend you want to redirect.
Claim deadline
Choose EQ Boost at least 15 working days before the dividend payment date, unless another deadline is stated. A late instruction takes effect for a later dividend.
Expiry
Each retailer sets its voucher expiry and spending rules.

Practical notes

If your paperwork names MUFG

Equiniti replaced MUFG Corporate Markets on 5 October 2026. Caledonia says existing share certificates remain valid. Use the new Equiniti notification and shareholder reference to register for Shareview, then check the EQ Boost dividend election.

Ten shares for each old share

Caledonia split each ordinary share into ten on 25 July 2025, reducing the nominal value from 5p to 0.5p. Match the number of shares on your current statement when working out what a dividend would put into EQ Boost.

Company story

A shipping family’s investment company

Charles Cayzer established the Clan Line shipping business in 1878. His family bought the company that became Caledonia in 1949, renamed it in 1951 and brought it to the London Stock Exchange in 1960. The Cayzer family still owns more than half of Caledonia.

Caledonia’s own history records an unusually timed sale: the family’s controlling stake in British & Commonwealth was sold on 15 October 1987, the night the Great Storm struck southern Britain. Black Monday followed days later.
