Book discounted hotel stays through IHG’s shareholder website, subject to availability. IHG does not publish the discount percentage.
What it takes
You need to hold your shares on a paper certificate. The certificate must be solely in your name on Equiniti’s register.

Practical notes
Holding electronically in your own name
IHG’s FAQ says “certified form”. Equiniti describes paper certificates as “certified shares”. The annual report speaks more broadly of registered shareholders. IHG does not say whether shares held electronically in your own name through CREST qualify, so ask before relying on that route.
Compare the booking terms
Compare the final shareholder price with other rates for the same stay. Check cancellation and payment terms, breakfast and whether the booking earns loyalty points.
