History of the perk
-

Naked Wines’ 2020 annual report records completion of the Majestic Wine business sale on 10 December 2019.
What shareholders got
Majestic Wine’s annual report mailing of 5 July 2019 included a voucher for a free bottle of Nicolas Courtin Brut NV Champagne. The chief executive invited shareholders to collect it the next time they made a purchase at Majestic. The same letter explained the plan to sell the Majestic business and focus on Naked Wines. The notice stated no minimum holding, spend or voucher expiry.
Previous claim process
The voucher enclosed with the July 2019 annual report mailing.
- 1. Collecting the bottleThe chief executive invited shareholders to collect the bottle the next time they shopped at Majestic. The notice gave no other claim instructions.
Practical notes
Naked Wines and its Fine Wine Bond
The Majestic shops were sold in 2019; the listed company continued as Naked Wines plc. The old voucher gives today’s Naked Wines shareholders nothing. Naked Wines’ separate Fine Wine Bond paid lenders interest in wine credits or cash.
