Moss Bros Group sells and hires men’s suits, wedding and black-tie outfits and other menswear through shops in the UK and online. The business now trades as Moss.

This scheme has endedMoss Bros became privately owned in June 2020, ending the scheme for public shareholders. The last vouchers’ expiry date is unconfirmed.

History of the perk

  1. Listing cancelled

    Brigadier Acquisition Company completed its takeover on 11 June 2020. Moss Bros left the London Stock Exchange the next day. Its shareholder discount page remained online without changes until at least October 2022.

  2. Tailor Me restriction absent

    The page no longer included the sentence excluding Tailor Me orders. The reason for its removal is unconfirmed.

  3. Voucher terms in 2016

    The shareholder discount page offered a voucher to registered shareholders and provided a request route for nominee holders. This version excluded Tailor Me orders.

Shareholders received 20% off full-price merchandise in Moss Bros stores.

Who qualified

You needed at least one share.

Qualifying shares: ordinary shares.

Shares held through a broker

Shares held in your own name or through a nominee qualified.

Previous claim process

For shares held through a nominee, the account manager had to confirm the shareholder’s name, address and number of shares held on 1 April.

  1. 1. Receiving the voucherMoss Bros sent vouchers automatically to the first-named registered holder. Shareholders with nominee accounts had to ask their account manager to request a voucher from the Company Secretary.
  2. 2. Using the voucherThe shareholder or a member of their immediate family could use the voucher in store.

Exclusions and limits

Usage limits: One transaction per voucher.

The former terms did not specify any minimum holding period or end date for the offer.
