History of the perk

There were no vouchers during the pandemic, and they did not return when Tesco reopened its AGM to shareholders. The notices do not say when Tesco last issued them, or that they have ended for good.

    Tesco’s 2026 AGM notice explains how to join the meeting online or in person. It does not offer Clubcard vouchers, and we have found no announcement bringing them back.

  2. Meetings resume in person, still without vouchers

    Tesco welcomed shareholders back in person, but again said there would be no Clubcard vouchers.

  3. No vouchers during the pandemic

    Tesco’s 2021 notice said shareholders would get no Clubcard vouchers for attending. The meeting ran under COVID-19 restrictions.

What shareholders got

Tesco once gave Clubcard vouchers to shareholders who attended its annual general meeting (AGM). Its notices tie the vouchers to attending the meeting, not to a year-round shopping discount.

The notices do not say what the vouchers were worth, where you could spend them or how many shares you needed. We do not know whether shares held through a broker qualified.

Practical notes

Do Tesco shareholders get a discount card?

We have found no Tesco terms for a shareholder discount card or a percentage off everyday shopping. Tesco’s AGM notices describe vouchers.

Clubcard rewards need no shares

You do not need Tesco shares to use Clubcard. Its ordinary vouchers come from loyalty points and are separate from the old AGM benefit.

Tesco vouchers through EQ Boost

EQ Boost lets eligible shareholders swap dividend money for shopping vouchers worth more than the cash. Tesco is on its retailer list, but not its list of companies whose dividends qualify. Tesco shares alone do not give you access.
