Isles of Scilly Steamship Company
Ferry and flight discounts
Isles of Scilly Steamship Company’s group runs the Scillonian ferry and Skybus flights between the islands and the mainland. Islanders helped fund the company when it formed in 1920.
What you get
Shareholders get 50% off Scillonian ferry tickets and 10% off Skybus tickets.
Lower change and cancellation fees
Shareholder bookings also have reduced amendment and cancellation fees compared with brochure fares. The shareholder FAQ does not give the amounts.
What it takes
You need more than 1,000 Ordinary shares.
Exactly 1,000 shares is not enough
The issuer says “greater than 1,000”.
Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. Unlisted shares may be difficult to sell. Check how transfers work and whether your broker supports the holding. Read about the risks.
Holding through a broker
The shareholder FAQ does not say whether nominee holdings qualify. Ask the company how it recognises your holding before relying on the discount.
Other conditions
- Who else can use it
- The shareholder’s partner can use both discounts.
How to claim
The shareholder FAQ does not state the booking route or proof requirements.
- 1. Ask before bookingUse the shareholder contact below to ask how to book and what proof you and your partner need. The ferry and Skybus terms say shareholders have separate conditions of carriage; ask for those terms before booking.

Dates
The published terms do not say when you must own the shares, how long you must hold them or when the benefit expires.
Practical notes
The shares trade through auctions
The company uses off-market auctions through Asset Match, with trades placed through a UK stockbroker. Check Asset Match’s current auction timetable and your broker’s support before placing an order.

Both travel discounts for a partner
The issuer’s April 2025 page extended only the ferry discount to a spouse. Its September 2025 page included the shareholder’s partner on both Scillonian III and Skybus. The exact change date was not published.
