How to approach a claim
Freetrade’s terms do not describe a shareholder-perk claim process.
The terms describe nominee custody: shares are registered to Freetrade Nominees or a custodian, rather than directly in your name.
Ask Freetrade what ownership evidence it can supply, then ask the company whether it accepts it. We have not tested this route.
What companies say
The Artisanal Spirits Company
ASC names Hargreaves Lansdown, AJ Bell, interactive investor and Freetrade as ways to buy its shares, then asks you to verify your holding on ASC’s website. It does not explain which nominee documents it accepts. We have not tested any broker’s route.
Perks to check with Freetrade
This list starts with companies on LSE and AIM. It also includes UK companies named in the broker’s claim instructions. Check that the broker offers the exact share you need.
Unconfirmed means we have not established a claim route through Freetrade. Check the exact share, account type and ownership evidence before relying on a benefit. Companies missing from this list have not been ruled out.
Documented route means the broker publishes instructions. Claim tested means a holder has reported a successful claim. Open the company page for the evidence, its date and any account restrictions.
